Chantilly performances put trio spot on for Dubai World Cup Night

Racenews

Talismanic, Cloth Of Stars and Rosa Imperial warmed up for their assignments on Dubai World Cup Night with pleasing prep runs on Polytrack at Chantilly, France, on Tuesday, 6 March.

Last season’s G1 Breeders’ Cup Turf winner Talismanic (Maxime Guyon) stayed on well to beat Cloth Of Stars (Mickael Barzalona) by a length and three quarters in the Prix Darshaan, an extended nine-furlong conditions race.

Rosa Imperial (Mickael Barzalona) also shaped encouragingly when going down by three quarters of a length to City Light, the pair clear, in another conditions contest - the Prix Anabaa over six and a half furlongs.

All three horses are trained by Andre Fabre, with Talismanic, a five-year-old son of Medaglia d’Oro, set to race on dirt for the first time in the G1 Dubai World Cup over 10 furlongs on 31 March.

Cloth Of Stars, runner-up in the G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in October, will remain over 12 furlongs on turf for the G1 Dubai Sheema Classic, while G3 winner Rosa Imperial is due to line up in the six-furlong G1 Al Quoz Sprint on turf.

Lisa-Jane Graffard of Godolphin commented: “We were very pleased with Talismanic, Cloth Of Stars and Rosa Imperial, who all appear to be in good form physically and mentally.

“They will all come on for their races today and will fly out to Dubai at the end of this week to continue their preparation for Dubai World Cup Night.”
